Edward J. Cassidy, 84, of Ambridge, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, in Heritage Valley Sewickley.

Born December 25, 1932, in Sewickley, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Spires Cassidy, he was retired from National Electric and HH Robertson. He was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church, Ambridge VFW, Baden American Legion and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie Thames Cassidy; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Karen Cassidy, Independence Twp.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Bob Douds, and Michaelene and Steve McGaughey, all of Economy, and Diana and Scott, McCall, Ambridge; 11 grandchildren, Bridget and her husband Bill Grimm, Alyssa Douds, Shawn McCall and his fiancée Abby Vargo; Matthew and Cody McCall, Tim, Sarah and Renea Cassidy, Steve and Kristy McGaughey, Jeffrey and his wife Ashley McGaughey; five great-grandchildren, Noah and Connor McCall, Ashlee and Tyler Grimm and Eddie Johnston; one sister, Mary Marcella Gintner, Ambridge; one sister-in-law, Lucy Cassidy, Conway and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Joseph, Donald, and James Cassidy, and one sister, Anna Cassidy.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Good Samaritan Church.

Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 10:45 a.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.
