Dorothy Metelsky

Dorothy Metelsky, 84, of Ambridge, died Friday, September 23, 2016, at Wexford House.

Born November 29, 1931, in Hawk Run, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Julia Harmotta Metelsky, she was retired from the former Armco Steel. She was a member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church; a 1949 graduate of Ambridge High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Ambridge Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of Pipi Chi Theta Sorority and also a member of the Ambridge Quilt Wrappers.

Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Mildred Metelsky, Economy Borough; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Metelsky, Baden, and Dorothea Metelsky, Ambridge; three nieces, Linda Metelsky, Baden; Marcia Metelsky, Pittsburgh, and Marlene and her husband, Rob Sacco, Ambridge; four nephews, John and Janice Metelsky, New York; Ronald and Natalie Metelsky, St. Mary's, PA; Daniel and Susan Metelsky, New Brighton and George Metelsky II, Freedom, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel, George, Raymond and John Metelsky; one sister-in-law, Dolores Metelsky and an infant niece, Diane Metelsky.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of parastas service at 7:30 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Translation of the body to follow to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Very Rev. Father William Evansky officiating. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
