Catherine A. Freed

Catherine A. Freed, 82, of Economy, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, in Heritage Valley Sewickley.


Born April 22, 1932, in Sewickley, a daughter of the late Matthew and Nellie Lesack Olexsovich, she was retired from H.H. Robertson and was also a home health care nurses aide. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Marian Guild and was a pierogi worker.


Surviving are her husband, Raymond E. Freed; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond E. Freed Jr., North Canton, OH and Daniel J. and Vicky Freed, Economy; five grandchildren, Rochell, Raymond M., and Ryan Freed, all of North Canton, OH; Samantha and Amelia Freed, Both of Economy; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Cathy Olexsovich, Baden; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Kostial, Baden; Stella Moon, Ambridge; and Patty Smitz, Leetsdale; a sister-in-law, Carol Olexsovich, Gibsonia, and many nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Olexsovich, in 1952 and a brother, John Olexsovich, in 2013.


Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Michael Polosky officiating.


Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
