Carl J. Villella

Carl J. Villella, 89, of Ambridge, died Monday, May 29, 2017, in his home.

Born September 19, 1927, in Ambridge, a son of the late Gaetano and Antoinetta Villella, he was retired from the Ambridge Water Authority. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Church, a life member of the Ambridge VFW, a 67-year member of the Ambridge Eagles, and an usher at Good Samaritan Church. He was in the Youngstown Morra League for many years and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Villella, in 2007, and three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Carl J. Villella Jr., Moon Township; Chris and Kim Villella, Baden; Jody Villella, Ambridge; six grandchildren, Jody Jr., Genna, Christopher, Karri, Braelyn, and Chelsea; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Haleigh, Jaysean, Jayden; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Victor Villella, Las Vegas; and Tommy and Marge Villella, Los Angeles; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bill and Pat Desko, Economy; Ed and Betty Ragozine, Zelienople, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Church. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

The Beaver County Special unit will be at 11 a.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.
